I never liked much of Scooby-doo apart form the classic series (Where are you?) The 13 Ghosts, Scrappy Doo, the direct-to-video/DVD animated movies, the live movies, the modern What's new Scooby-doo...not much for me... I found them instead a bit too childish and silly... (plus their quality wasn't that great) (yeah, I know the old series wasn't that well animated as well...but it had a great atmosphere) Then I finally started watching Scooby again with either the very stupid show Shaggy & Scooby get a clue (which wasn't really a real classic Scooby doo series, but at least even the title assumed that...more like Venture Bros. with Shaggy and Scooby thrown in it) and the current amazing Mystery Inc. cartoon. Sure, this last one may look and seem a bit darker and scarier, due to a great art direction, settings and music...but the more reasons for kids to like it! As a kid I loved watching slasher movies, Friday the 13th, horror movies, etc.. Kids love this stuff~ And in the end, it's always a guy wearing a plastic mask

Kids love being scared. I know i did, when I was six my favorite movie was Gremlins because it was both funny and scary.

True, I liked that movie myself, but it was more so funny than scary, and sometimes just down right stupid. XD The creepiest part I can think of from that Movie is when they pulled that guy under the desk but...Oh well, he was mean anyway. XD
Not that he deserved it but...XD!

To Eyz : Yes, the old Scooby Doo was much better. It may have had creepy music and all. But at least not all the monsters were badly ugly, and the things that happened were much funnier as well.
The newer Scooby Doo shows, although good as far as story goes, seem to just get a bit creepier with their monsters. But that's just how I feel about it.
XD! And I guess you're right, after all..If kids have to be scared by anything, why not Scooby doo? XD It's probably better to be scared with that, then most other movies! XD

It's probably better than me when I was less than 10, watching horror/slasher flicks like Friday the 13th or Creepshow for sure! XD

The only way I could find Scooby doo scary is if they brought Scrappy back D:

Zody : LOL You're crazy. XD But to be honest I did find Scrappy a bit annoying. XD
Actaully the main reason I asked this question, was because at first, I had it posted up there, about the Scooby Doo movies of 2010. It was just in my opinon, the monsters were starting to look a bit more ugly than before, and I started wondering : Uh...Would little kids get scared by this? I was just thinking they should tone down the ugly level on the monsters, but then again, maybe people like it better that way! XD

Zody: which scrappy? the cartoon one? or the evil live-action movie one? also can i call you general Zod Both...though I applaud Warner Bros for actually realising the public hated Scrappy and decided to kill him off once and for all : ] Also I think it's epic but as well as shocking in the new cartoon they finally hooked Velma and Shaggy together : o wonder if the fans managed to influence that ;= B
