You guys may already know this but last Tuesday Tangled came out on DVD in the U.S.A., and being that it's Disney's 50th animated feature I felt we should discuss what our favourite movies, villians, heroes, songs, lines and scenes are from Disney's animated movies. And seeing that I'm such a nice guy here's a list of all of them from Snow White to Tangled.
1Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 2 Pinocchio 3 Fantasia 4 Dumbo 5 Bambi $268,000,000 6 Saludos Amigos 7 The Three Caballeros 8 Make Mine Music 9 Fun and Fancy Free 10 Melody Time 11 The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad 12 Cinderella 13 Alice in Wonderland 14 Peter Pan 15 Lady and the Tramp 16 Sleeping Beauty 17 One Hundred and One Dalmatians $224,000,000 18 The Sword in the Stone 19 The Jungle Book $205,800,000 20 The Aristocats 21 Robin Hood 22 The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 23 The Rescuers 24 The Fox and the Hound 25 The Black Cauldron 26 The Great Mouse Detective 27 Oliver & Company 28 The Little Mermaid $222,300,000 29 The Rescuers Down Under 30 Beauty and the Beast $378,300,000 31 Aladdin $501,900,000 32 The Lion King $783,400,000 33 Pocahontas $347,100,000 34 The Hunchback of Notre Dame $325,500,000 35 Hercules $250,600,000 36 Mulan $303,500,000 37 Tarzan $435,200,000 38 Fantasia 2000 39 Dinosaur $347,800,000 40 The Emperor's New Groove 41 Atlantis: The Lost Empire 42 Lilo & Stitch $262,700,000 43 Treasure Planet 44 Brother Bear $226,029,248 45 Home on the Range 46 Chicken Little $298,181,507 47 Meet the Robinsons 48 Bolt $305,653,579 49 The Princess and the Frog $247,374,107 50 Tangled $575,984,028
I've edited the list to show how much each has made thus far worldwide in theaters based off of IMDb down to 200 million, I'm still searching for the rest.

Funny how they now count Dinosaur as one of the 'classics' whereas back when it was released it tanked so the DVD release simply stated 'walt disney presents' instead. Plus all the backgrounds in that film are live action...hmm..

Actually before inflation Dinosaur is the 6th highest grossing Disney animated feature only behind The Lion King (783.4 mill.), Tangled (576 mill. still out in some countries), Aladdin (501.9 mill.), Tarzan (435.2 mill.), and Beauty and the Beast (378.3 mill.), it made about 347.8 million dollars, about half a million dollars more than Pocahontas, but I'm surprised Tangled did that good, adoring fans, who knew.

That's weird as I don't know anyone, ANYONE, who has even seen that film. I recall it getting lukewarm reviews and not a lot of marketing also, at least here in the UK anyway.
Any film that has come out in recent years is a bit unfairly compared to older films as now they have both 2D and inflated 3D ticket prices that automatically add up to more money even with less people going to cinemas than they used to. Record keep getting broken because they rarely take inflation into account.

Heh, I always liked how Disney would call their new movie "A new Disney Classic!" before it was released, as if they themselves decide if it's going to be remembered as a classic or not. I can barely remember any Dinosaur advertising here either.
Tangled one of the most grossing Disney movies? That must be because of the 3d tickets. Sure, most people like it and it got good reviews, but more "Ah, just like the good old days" kinda reactions then "WHOA THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME YOU GOTTA SEE IT!" like how Lion King was received.
My favorite movie would be Emporer's new Groove. Awesome jokes and one of the rare animated movies that doesn't fall completely dead in it's "Hero realises he was wrong and needs to get his act together again before the climax" moment every movie seems to need these days.

Emporer's was a good movie but it was tarnished by it's Disney Channel original series, but my top 5 have to be, in no paticular order, Aladdin, Lion King, Lilo & Stitch ( I have a hugh collection of Stitch toys), Tarzan and probably Brother Bear (I heart mooses)
And Gagaman, I saw Dinosaur in theater, so that make 1 person you know.

There are like three movies on that list that I don't own yet :v Keyword "yet."

I've seen it and I'm totally in love with it. Hell, I even own a special edition DVD. When I saw the promo, my heart nearly stopped. :v

To be fair Disney made that film long before the CGI craze really took hold, plus since Princess and the Frog it looks as though they are doing a bit of 2D and a bit of CGI from now on, probably the best way to go as some films benefit from being CGI while others like Winnie the Pooh are best off hand drawn.
Speaking of Winnie the Pooh, has anyone noticed much publicity for it? It's out over here in the UK now though you'd barely know it, they don't really advertise it on TV or anything. Sigh..

I think I did see a bit of advertisement for Pooh here, and I rarely watch tv.
