I still wanna watch that and Army of Darkness, but I still need to get my hands on Evil Dead 1. It can be hard to find at times, even when looking for it on the internet.
BUT I WILL GET THEM SOME HOW!!!

Never heard about Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell's classic trilogy movies? SHAME ON YOU!!! I'd say what it's about, but I want to give Eyz the honour of giving an even better description than I would've.

I remember watching it and found it both Gory and Hilarious. I suppose Ash would be good at catching 'Dedite' Poke'mon. And the Necronomicon is a Poke'dex.

I should own the DVD of Army of Darkness, but I can't find it anymore. it was an amusing film yeah, tough I was suprised how juvenle and childishsome of the jokes were, especally considering it's reputation as big bad ass manly movie.
Never saw the first 2, I hate and despise slashers, comedy or not.

Frobman: I borrowed a dvd from a mate with all 3 movies on it. Im not sure if i want to watch the first one, i might anyway i supose XD I'll watch the third one next though.
doublesnl: Its a B-movie horror series thats gotten a cult following, its got gore and everything, but its pretty much claymotion so its hilarious XD and the main character is really over the top, and kickass. He gets a chainsaw hand.
Frobman: I just hate scary movies XD Im a wuss.

Frobman: I just hate scary movies XD Im a wuss. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of horror movies myself, but there are some I wouldn't mind watching, like The Evil Dead movies. I'm never picky with certain movies as I am with genres.

Evil Dead 1's not really hard to find. I mean, really on DVD/Bluray nor internet. Just a good version. There's so many cuts/editions/etc... In french DVDs (what we got here) there's like 10+ different editions!! The ones from French/Swiss tv channels, the ones from hollywood publishers, the ones from European publishers and others from independent french publishers...agh...
A recap? Alright!
Evil Dead was an independent horror small budget movie by Sam Raimi (Spider-man, Darkman..), his brother and Bruce Campbell (many B-movies..). There's actually a prequel movie first, they did in college when they originally meet back then. (it's called "Within the woods" and it's even harder to come by, these days..) The story: A couple of friends go in a cabin in the woods. They play a message by the owners of the cabin which awakens the dead, monsters and many more creatures~ Everyone gets killed. It's super gory (and quite creative with the special effects). Only Ash/Bruce C. lives on. Gory, violent..put 80s horror movie!
Evil Dead 2/Dead by Dawn the sequel is a lot funnier. It's like 50% horror-50% comedy. Bloody is used for humour this time (like Ash being thrown away from all the bloody blowing off the wall) It's part sequel and part remake. The first 1/3 of the movie is a remake of Evil Dead 1. Since Sam Raimi didn't had the rights of the first movie anymore, he had to reshot the flashback scenes and simply decided to change the story then. This time, Ash and a girlfriend went alone to the cabin (no more friends tagging along). Then the dead attacks, girlfriend gets turned into a Deadite (the evil dead's monsters). Ash slowly almost turns into one. (an evil double escapes from a mirror at some point) It's great and fun. Much better than Evil Dead 1, though horror fans still prefer the more serious first movie... The story focuses on a book, the book of the dead, the Necronomicon Ex Mortis, that started it all. At the end..CLIFFHANGER!!
And then finally, Army of Darkness/Medievil Dead. (also awesomly called BRUCE CAMPBELL Vs. The Army of Darkness in the title screen) It starts from the Evil Dead 2 cliffhanger. (with a super fast recap of the first two films) Like 2, the flashback in the beginning is reshot rather than reusing the original scenes. So details change, such as where Ash appears. Ash was thrown into a vortex to medieval era. A war starts between the Deadites, lead by Ash's double which is created and separated at some point in this movie, and humans. It's more campy. Like 80% comedy and only 20% horror this time. It's a parody/hommage to old blacl & white medieval movies. They used a lot of stop motion like in the ol' days, despite it being a 90s movie.
There's several different endings for Evil Dead 3, the more famous being brought Ash back in the present. Zoom in, HELL TO THE KING, BABY! The End. And the fan favorite ending, Ash ending up in a future destroyed by Deadites because he didn't follow the rules to go back to our era~
I really recommend watching Evil Dead 2 and 3 if you're interested. ED1 if you love horror movies. And only AoD if you might be afraid of gore/blood/real horror.
