Heres something I came across in my usual nerdy research on old games especially on the Sega Saturn, at at 7:10 there is a character in this video that you can fight as that I don't think anyone as ever seen before unless you played this game.
Sega sure loved creating some interesting and yet odd games back in the day, for a random note this game was created by the same team who brought us Sonic The Fighters heck even evidenced by the two secret characters Bark and Bean who are also in this video alongside some well known faces and some really really strange characters 0_o

I love this game! It sort of is an early "Sega All-Star" on the Saturn! Tons of characters to unlock!
And the team is a lot more than the guys who "who brought us Sonic The Fighters"! It's AM2!! Virtua Fighter! Fighting Vipers! Outrun! Shenmue! and many more~
It sort of is like a crossover Virtua Fighter vs. Fighting Vipers, only they speeded up the gameplay, made it a tad simpler, added lots of unlockables...easily my fav 3D fighter on the Saturn^^

I know they did all those games but I thought that if I mentioned games that no one quite knew about people wouldn't know what I was on about so my fault for simplifying my post there. Also the games they created sure were a lot of fun indeed =D also tons of characters to unlock is my fetish when it comes to video games XD

Can't say much about fighting games, since the only fighting game I truely played has been the Smash Bros series, but ... I have seen the likes of "timindex 7:10" already elsewhere: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZgjCOZH97Q(sorry can't find a better video)

For me, I've always loved THE OLD Tekkens, particularly 2 and 3...I dunno why, I was only 8 and I was hooked on them...kept me amused for hours :B

Can't have a thread that dares mention Daytona USA without this;
... though, that being said, "best fighting game character ever"? Pft. Everyone knows Sagat is top-tier.
*runs for it*

Haha, the Daytona Hornet was an awesome choice for a fighter there. I wish Sonic super stars racing had more of that kind of humor. To think "Segata Sanshiro riding on a big Saturn" was one of the characters tehy planned for the game but got scrapped...
Ah well, at least teh game resurected Ryu, Opa Opa and Alex Kidd for a brief moment.
I don't like Fighting games much myself either, I like Smash bros and the occasional bout in Dead or Alive 2 and Soul Calibur, but that's about it. Why did they remove the jump option in Virtua fighter 3...
Speaking of which, one of these days I gonna make a monkey fried paperclip show animation focusing on fighting games, for almost each series I got at least one joke..

*Alex was in the previous Sega Superstar! (plus Opa never really "died" with his last release n 2006, he's just not mainstream enough for random gamers knowing about him) I, on the contrary, am a big Fighting fan And for some reason, not that fan of Smash Brosh... it's nice enough and pretty amazing for nintendo fans, but not my couple of tea. I rank it up alongside the Dragon Ball games, and those Godzilla fighting games. There's plenty of fan service and tons of references, but it's not just arcad-ysh enough to have fun with more hardcore friends during "fighting marathons". (I haven't touched Smash Bros wii since the 3rd week after its release back then...)

I do hope they consider a All-Star Racing 2 seeing as the DLC fell through (mainly due to them charging too much IMO, if Metal Sonic was cheaper more people would have downloaded it). So many other characters I'd love to see and I might get hate for saying this, but I had more fun with this game than Mario Kart Wii. Fighters Megamix was fantastic back in the day. I actually manged to get the palm-tree and ham characters which required playing the game for 100 hours or something, but i didn't have a Saturn memory card at the time and when the battery run out I lost the save file. There's loads of other neat cheats in the game, like I recall if you pressed some buttons at the start of a certain level the after burner plane would fly over. Nice little touches like that made it my favorite Saturn game.

You didn't need 100 hours+ I replayed it like a month or 2 ago and re-unlocked everything. I think beating the game several times did the trick (maybe on other difficulties, don't remember..)
Games just don't have as much nor fun easter eggs nowadays.. :/

What? That's what the official Saturn mag said you had to do! I left the game on over night for nothing! :E

I just checked it out again to be sure, seems you "only" had to complete most arcade courses, using most characters to unlock all AND do around 84 hours (not more) of game too. Seems like I probably put many hours in this without noticing Well, playing with friends and unlocking all arcade modes did that it seems! XD
